Wimbledon! My experience.

I’ve been to Wimbledon once the experience has been fun and interesting. There have been many fun stories that I have gotten from both experiences. I wanted to express my tips and experiences that I have encountered while seeing this great competition. Keep in mind that I’ve never had the experience of watching within the stadium. I’ve only experienced watching from the steps. I will be mainly taking pointers from what I’ve experienced.

Firstly with buying tickets which were one of the more surprising parts. The price was quite cheap for what I expected but now that I have been there I can understand why the price low for what I got since I was sitting on the steps and watching it's on the screen compared to watching it in the stadium. I never expected the price to be £8 though I expected such a prestigious and popular competition such as Wimbledon to be more expensive. So I and my family took the opportunity of paying the £8 admission price.

My biggest recommendation for Wimbledon especially if you are camping is that you keep an eye on the weather and plan your outfits accordingly. Most of the time that you’re going to be in Wimbledon you are going to be outside whether you are in the stadium or not. The worst thing that could happen is that you are not prepared, it rains, and that you have no umbrella there to protect you. Having that extra protection can be the difference between you enjoying the experience, being absolutely soaked, or being extremely hot or cold.

The cost of having to pay such a low price was it ended up us having to camp. At this point, I had camped multiple times before, and it never really bothered me. One of the biggest challenges we had to face is that we didn’t have an air bed which caused one of the most uncomfortable nights of sleep I had ever had. If you take anything away from this it’s that if you plan on camping you at least should remember to bring an air bed with you since you may have a very uncomfortable night of sleep and be very tired the next morning.

The next morning I woke up early and had to wait in a very long line. This brings me to another tip and that is to prepare lots of entertainment to bring with you. At Wimbledon, there is a lot of waiting even when you are in the main Wimbledon area. You can end up waiting for a long time so you need to be prepared to have things to entertain yourself with whether that be music to listen to or downloaded videos you want to watch.

When we finally got into the main Wimbledon area was when I had the most fun being there. It’s not just the match that is enjoyable to me but it’s being able to explore different parts of the arena and being able to talk and meet new people. Even if you are slightly interested in tennis there is something you can definitely enjoy about the experience. One thing I definitely do recommend if you end up sitting on the steps it’s that you at least bring something that will make you feel comfy because sitting on those steps for a long time can be very uncomfortable.

If you are a talkative person take the time you have to get to know the people around you. If you’re a big tennis fan this is a great time to get to know other people who are fans of tennis. This is an especially important tip if you have run out of things to do. There are many smaller activities that go on and quite a lot of food you can buy. Take some time to explore and look for those different activities that you can do.

Even when you're in the main Wimbledon area there is still a lot of waiting involved. I definitely recommend that while you’re waiting maybe do something that you enjoy to help you relax before the match starts. since you’re no longer waiting in a queue this gives you time to get food before the match starts. I remember I used a lot of the spare time where the match wasn’t on to explore the arena. I definitely recommend that if you're a person that loves to explore and take photos that you take the spare time that you have to do that.

I have many interesting experiences being at Wimbledon and seeing the wonder that the place has to offer. The real joy is being in a place like Wimbledon which is that it has so much going on it makes the place seems so lively. I recommend if you can only afford the cheaper tickets I think it’s definitely worth it to go especially if you love camping and tennis. It’s definitely an experience I’d recommend people to do. Even if you don’t like tennis there are so many other things that make Wimbledon enjoyable.
